About me

I'm a machine learning engineer at Radicle Crops in Wageningen, where I'm working on developing machine learning models for quinoa breeding.

After completing my bachelor's in Data Science and AI at Maastricht University, I did a master's in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at ETH Zurich. For my master's thesis, I worked on tree species identification using aerial imagery and deep learning, with a focus on model transferability across different environments.

Previously, I worked at i-Med Technology for over two years, developing computer vision and real-time image processing techniques for digital surgical microscopes. I've also worked on software and signal processing for high-density microelectrode arrays at ETH Zurich's Bio Engineering Laboratory. Overall, my background is a mix of machine learning, computer vision, remote sensing, software engineering, and computational biology. See my CV for more details.

Outside of work, I work on various personal software projects, mainly on the graphics and GPU side. I'm also quite interested in, which you might notice is slowly becoming the focus of this website. I'm half Japanese, half British, and have lived in the UK, Japan, Spain, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. I speak English, Japanese, and Spanish.
